Motor Control Resistors

We can design and build motor control resistors of any type for any application, including:

Wound-rotor AC motors with slip ring starters
Crane control systems
DC motor starters
Field discharge resistors
Torque-increasing resistors for use with soft starters
Wauchope and closed-transition starters

Although these types of motor and control system are in many cases being supplanted by AC variable speed drives, it remains the case that many new installations make use of traditional resistor-based motor control on grounds of cost, simplicity and reliability. Our expertise in application engineering means that Cressall can offer you a complete range of dedicated resistors for starting, braking and speed control that meet European, international and bespoke specifications.

Existing installations may require new resistors when the motors themselves are being repaired or rewound. Cressall has the knowledge, experience and range of resistor technologies to produce cost-effective designs for new or replacement motor control applications, particularly for customers with legacy systems for which the original equipment supplier no longer exists or has ceased manufacture.

For the majority of designs we can configure our grids or coils in to our off-the-shelf range of 2M industrial housings, enabling us to offer delivery within days for breakdowns or urgent requirements.
