Proven Covid-19 ventilator available for immediate trial
To help tackle shortages of ventilators across Europe and to support the fight against COVID-19, Italian company ISINNOVA has patented a new mask design that can be used as a temporary replacement for standard ventilation equipment.
By adjusting a snorkelling mask created by Decathlon International that is already available on the market, and with the addition of Isinnova’s 3D printed valves, the two companies have created a potentially lifesaving innovation. The masks have already been tested at the Chiari hospital in Italy, and proved effective.
One of Cressall’s Italian suppliers, Ellena spa partnering with SPEM, Additive Manufacturing Company, has also produced 3D components to make the masks usable for doctors and patients. They have been studied a version for healthcare personnel in order to protect using the mask plus HME filters.
Cressall has received a supply of the Decathlon masks and 3D printed components, which are available for NHS and healthcare facilities to try out. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in receiving an order of masks, please get in touch by calling +44 (0) 7534 695476.
